Chapter 3
Ethan’s warm smile broke when his work associate knocked on his open door.
“Hey, Ethan, Higgins wants us in the boardroom for a meeting in 15 minutes. He just sent the email. It seems big. I don’t think it’s anything near what we had to deal with last spring with the Reynolds account,” Alan said.
Ethan rolled his eyes. “Thanks, Al. It can’t be good.”
He took a look at some numbers that the data team had just emailed the staff before walking down the hall, wishing he could just put in his two week’s notice.
Ethan took the empty seat by Alan as the rest of the team found seats and took out pads or their devices ready to take any notes for this impromptu meeting.
Arnold Higgins, the president of Higgins & Arrolo Engineering, soldiered into the boardroom. A tall, brooding man, Mr. Higgins’s full head of gray hair was shallacked in place, but he was without his blazer and his sleeves were rolled up. No tie. He did not take a seat.
